About this piece

This photo was taken two or three days after the carving was complete, so you can see that the flesh of the pumpkin has dried and peeled along all the shape outlines. This process can be delayed with moisturizers, but I wasn’t so attached to this piece that I wanted to go to great efforts to preserve it. It’s a simple piece that’s quick to put out. Who doesn’t like sloths?

Carving notes

The stencil came from a simple cartoon sloth that I found on Google Images. I added the “Hi!” voice bubble, but if I wanted that bubble to look better, I should have inverted it first so that the bubble and words appear dark on white. That’s something you can do if you want to try this piece.
